NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF WOODSTOCK
2006-2009 REVALUATION
The State of New Hampshire requires that each municipality in the State update their values every 5 years. Beginning in January 2008, appraisers from the firm of Commerford Nieder Perkins, LLC will begin the third-year of the Cyclical Revaluation of the Town of Woodstock. The area to be visited during 2008 is the area of Deer Park and Alpine Village.
The appraisers will adhere to the following guidelines during the revaluation process:

Meeting called to order: 6:35 pm.
1. Mail
a. The Grandview Inc. Standard Dredge and Fill application was returned by the DES, saying additional information is needed. (Letter sent to Edward Maggiacomo, Jr.)
b. We received the March 2008 “Points North” Bulletin, a regional report from the North Country Council.
c. Also received a pamphlet from the Watershed Ecology Institute, a 10 day class sponsored by NH Fish and Gam (truncated) | |

Origin: First
granted in 1763, Governor Benning Wentworth named the town
Peeling after an English town. Many of the first colonists
were originally from Lebanon, Connecticut. In 1771, Governor
John Wentworth gave it the name Fairfield, after Fairfield,
Connecticut. The town was renamed Woodstock in 1840, for a
historic palace in Woodstock, England.
